Orthopedic Physicians Anchorage

Skiers from around the world flock to Alaska’s Alyeska Resort for its pristine mountain slopes covering 1,400 skiable acres. Located 40 minutes southeast of Anchorage, this tundra oasis treats adventurers to North America’s longest continuous double black run. This exciting venue, however, also presents a challenge for the Alyeska Ski Patrol: how to keep its patrons within reach of high quality medical care in a remote locale? Orthopedic Physicians Anchorage pledged to provide round the clock triage and treatment support for Alyeska Resort staff and patrons. In the event of an injury, Alyeska Ski Patrol can call on Orthopedic Physicians Anchorage to deliver fast, surgeon level management. Rick Watson, practice administrator at Orthopedic Physicians Anchorage explains, “to expedite their care, Alyeska Ski Patrol personnel…are going to be connected to an orthopedic surgeon who is going to be able to let the Alyeska Ski Patrol know what to do with the patient right at that time, and the patient can get better and quicker treatment.”
